Analytics can provide information that would otherwise stay hidden. For example, there has been frustratingly slow progress in diversifying the leadership pipeline, and no one seems to know why. Policies and procedures are supposed to prevent bias, but it obviously exists.

Human capital and social capital analytics can reveal the leadership development process was skewed toward supporting white males and excluding women and diverse employees. Analytics are used to identify people with leadership potential, determine the value of investments in leadership development, and hone leadership's informed decision-making. They offer more scientific approaches to leadership development.
