Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the principle of making a continuing commitment to contribute to local or global economic development while improving communities and the lives of workforce members, all within the context of meeting shareholder (financial) interests. Impact investing is a form of investing which aims to bring financial, social and environmental returns for the good of the world and is not limited by a financial context.

Impact investing and CSR have a lot in common, the overriding similarity being that money is spent in a way that leads to a better world in some manner. They are also different in many ways, meaning the alignment of CSR and impact investing could conceivably multiply end results. ...
