Respecting Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity is the way of life, and no facets of human existence could ever escape the premises of diversity how so ever exclusive they term them to be. The goodness enclosed within the all-encompassing nature of the word ‘diversity’ itself could not be neglected. Human civilization has taken an evolutionary flight and in its journey of development it has been spreading the message of inclusion and diversity.

No nation or state who has excluded the endless positivity and goodness embedded in diversity, could claim of holistic development and progress. Any success story of a person or a country is incomplete in true essence if they neglect the added benefits of respecting diversity in all its actuality. In that scenario all claims of civilizational sophistication and advancement get limited within the enclosure of bogus claims and hypocritical existence.

It is very important, for the true values of humanity to prevail in all spheres of human existence, that we respect diversity of people, culture, religion and language in everyday life. Many a times in our lives we find it difficult to keep away from our prejudiced existence and knowingly and unknowingly get ourselves involved in passing judgements on those not belonging to our circle of binary existence. Being the true progeny of modern world, we have too conveniently entrapped the self to get ensnared by the deceits of commonness and in the very process we tend to neglect the inherent positivity surrounding the concept of diversity.

The very first step of embracing the principles of inclusion and diversity is to acknowledge its presence. Just by closing our eyes we can’t say it for sure that anything other than our own belief system is negligent or non-existent. We must widen our horizon to incorporate the true meaning of existence and by doing so in the long run of our existence we must acknowledge and at the same time respect the diversity present in our surrounding and beyond. When we attain that level of maturity it becomes easier for us to understand other people and at the same time engage with them on a more personal and inclusive level.

When we adapt our habits and interests per our social situation it becomes much easier for us to understand the need and requirement of others. Human civilization is based on co-operation and dependency and no person could claim to live in absolute isolation in their life time. We could say it either to be a human fallacy or our biggest strength that we need company for making our existence worthy enough for remembrance.

Nothing in this world could be exactly the same or identical in nature, even a minute difference is a cent percent possibility. Each and every person in this world have their own individual characteristics and making a hierarchy of the same in lieu with the power politics is definitely not a great idea to follow. One must understand the fact that each and every individual is different, different in an exclusively unique way, different and unapologetic all together. All people love their own exclusive ways of leading a life.

One must note a fact quite attentively that even all the fingers of a person’s hand are not equal. All are of different size and shapes. None of the fingers serve the same or identical purpose and one can’t generate a hierarchy among them stating that this finger is better than that finger, or the thumb is more useful than the forefinger.

All the fingers of our hand are equally important and serve equally important purposes. The example of the fingers of our hand could serve as a representation of inclusivity and usefulness of diversity. When all fingers get the same respect and all fingers are valued equally then only, they in unison form the fist of a hand that represents the intrinsic strength and valour.

It is very important in today’s world that we provide our future generation with a world that is integrated, united, and that respects the highest humanitarian values of diversity and inclusion.

Spreading the message of inclusion and peace should be our top priority and none should get ensnared by the evil intentions of exclusivity and individualistic fervour.

One must always keep in mind that man is a social animal and in order to maintain a social structure it is very important that we strive towards oneness, towards unity and towards togetherness, the stepping stone for the same being, respecting and valuing the diversity present in and around us.
