Celebrating her 30th anniversary at Comerica, Brenda Schneider has found a home with the bank, and brought Comerica plenty of positive recognition in the process. Schneider has twice received the Spirit of Detroit, the highest award given by the city, for her leadership. In 2003, she received the Supplier Diversity Showcase Award from Johnson Controls, and in 2004, she was selected as one of Detroit's most enterprising women In 2006, she was selected as one of the 100 Women Impacting Supplier Diversity which is the first and only list to honor 100 women in corporate America. She has brought her accomplishments and experience to supplier diversity at Comerica, helping provide access to capital and technical assistance to MWBEs in Comerica's major market segments. When she meets with a MWBE that has a great business plan, knowing that they won't be able to succeed unless they have the capacity to operate and compete in the global arena, Schneider helps them meet the challenge by introducing them to joint venture or strategic alliance possibilities. Diversity at Comerica is a core value, but what makes Schneider most proud is seeing the growth and sustainability of MWBE's that Comerica has mentored and financed over the years. In addition to her achievements at Comerica, Schneider was the first non-Asian to be elected to the Board of Directors for the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce.
