2022 Top 10 Influential Women in DEI Named
DIVERSITY GLOBAL RECOGNIZES WOMEN LEADERS ADVANCING DEI

SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY – DiversityGlobal Magazine is honored to announce the names of 10 women who have been selected as the 2022 Influential Women in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). In their respective positions, they have advanced DEI through relationship building, strategy development and implementation, and a relentless desire to create truly inclusive cultures in their domestic and global organizations and communities of operation.

The Top 10 Influential Women in DEI are role models who have overcome many challenges, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, to ensure forward progress continued in the diversity space. They work in a variety of industries, and all say their success is due first to the full support of their CEOs and other senior leaders. The organizations represented this year are Ahold Delhaize; Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ; Brown Forman; General Electric Steam Power in France; Liberty Mutual Insurance; New York City Health + Hospitals; Riot Games; Verisk Analytics; MillerKnoll; and Santander US. Each year, the types of industries represented expands, which demonstrates recognition of the importance of embracing the DEI vision for long-term success in a diverse, global and connected business environment.

The Top 10 Influential Women in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion developed customized strategies for their organizations and have achieved remarkable success. Some launched their company’s inaugural DEI strategy, requiring a range of activities from corporate policy development to staffing interventions. Other leaders built on existing efforts by expanding current initiatives, developing new leadership and employee education programs, forming new business relationships, working with ERGs and Business Councils, and providing opportunities for honest conversations about inclusion and life experiences. They are skilled collaborators, team builders, organizational culture transformers, and change agents. They also give their time to national diversity organizations and local community groups.

The process for finding the Top 10 Influential Women in DEI began with Diversity Global Magazine sending surveys to over 37,000 diversity executives and organizational leaders. The survey asked the DEI, ESG, Talent Management, and other corporate executives to nominate a leader in their organization who demonstrates excellence in building a top-quality DEI or Talent Management program based on named criteria. The criteria included demonstrating leadership qualities, encouraging diversity of thought and perspectives, promoting a more diverse workforce, driving best practices in DEI, and having a global perspective on diversity and inclusion.

The women nominated then answered a set of questions, giving them the opportunity to identify their most successful initiative or achievement, best practices driving DEI success, and leadership strengths. Their passion for DEI was clear in each response. All the women nominated are dedicated leaders bringing change to their organizations in the diversity space, making it difficult for an independent review board to select the Top 10.

The final group of women selected have shown innovative leadership in the DEI space, never letting barriers to progress stand in their way. They are change agents, powerful communicators, organizational and community leaders, relationship builders, and coaches and mentors. The Top 10 Influential Women in DEI have proven their ability to take any challenge and overcome it, whether it meant developing new initiatives, holding organizational leaders accountable, developing and maintaining key relationships through a pandemic, taking DEI global, or partnering with other businesses and nonprofits.
