Allison Green Johnson Develops DEI Action Plan at Lincoln Financial Group

Allison Green Johnson, Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer and President for the Lincoln Financial Foundation, Lincoln Financial Group, led the establishment of the company’s diversity and inclusion function and supporting strategy focused on the workplace, marketplace and community. The strategy has evolved and added equity. She partnered to develop and lead the company’s 8-part action plan, designed to ensure long-term, sustained action supporting racial equity and focused on Lincoln’s talent practices, leadership compensation and community support. Some actions outlined include increasing the minority leadership representation at the officer level (assistant vice president and above) by 50% over three years, growing Lincoln’s professional network of Black financial advisors and planners, and continuing conversations about race across the organization.

Allison and her team have led and supported successful key initiatives to include doubling the organization’s minority representation, formalizing mentorship, a development program for diverse leaders, adding dedicated diversity-focused recruiters and establishing partnerships with historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). These initiatives and actions have resulted in increased employee engagement scores and low minority officer attrition. To continue to support this meaningful work and contribute to Lincoln’s culture of DEI, Allison is focused on authenticity, optimism and integrity and she maintains a global perspective with a commitment to continuous learning.
