Angela Bretz is the Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity and Talent Acquisition Officer at Nationwide. She advances Nationwide’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture. She also drives the company’s talent acquisition efforts, including associate and executive recruiting strategies, university relations, internship programs, relocation services, immigration services and talent acquisition process operations. Externally, she advances Nationwide’s brand and reputation through diverse strategic partnerships, philanthropy, and community engagements.
With a dual reporting to Nationwide’s CEO and CHRO, Angela’s role was expanded in 2021 when DEI and Talent Acquisition were combined and aligned under her leadership, creating an environment where new talent is enmeshed in the company’s mission, vision, values, and inclusive culture from the moment of hire. Additionally, the integrated approach enables a broader view of company strengths and opportunities, to enhance Nationwide’s DEI strategy through the timely identification of emerging trends.
Angela partners closely with the company’s 16 Associate Resource Groups and 11 Business Unit Councils to continually advance the culture of DEI and hosts annual events to celebrate associates’ heritage, educate about diverse experiences and demonstrate how to be better allies. She also collaborates with the Nationwide Foundation on the annual social justice giving campaign.
