Riot Games Angelaro Transforms the Organizational Culture

Joining Riot Games in 2019 as the Chief Diversity Officer, Angela Roseboro was tasked with leading a D&I team dedicated to transforming the culture. Under her leadership, Riot Games has increased the representation of women and underrepresented minorities, including at the executive level and in key departmental leadership positions. Angela launched the first professional development program focused on women and gender-diverse Rioters. She also enabled Rioter Inclusion Groups to play a critical role in the game production process.

Angela launched a racial equity initiative in partnership with both Social impact and Corporate Development teams. A key project was the Underrepresented Founders Program (URF), which aimed to provide $10 million toward underrepresented founders and startups in the gaming community. It pledged $1 million from the Social Impact Fund to make progress over three years in areas of justice reform, minority-owned small businesses, and equity within the workforce. Angela’s best practices include listening to stakeholders to understand their needs, having a seat at the executive leadership team table, and holding leaders accountable by deploying scorecards.
