Antoinette Hamilton, Global Head of Inclusion & Diversity at Lam Research, spearheaded a successful initiative to formalize inclusion as a critical strategic lever through an incremental holistic approach. She led the launch of an Inclusion Index within the annual employee survey and helped turn those insights into action—in the form of development opportunities, benefits programs, and more. She also spearheaded an effort to set a performance and development target focused on I&D for all executives and people managers.
Antoinette points to the depth and pace at which the organization is actively working to fulfill the Lam I&D vision as a significant success. Recognizing the slow industry progress in advancing DEI, Antoinette is working to leverage what she sees as a unique opportunity to address the challenge. Her perspective is that it is essential for organizations first to understand the business impact of not actively working towards becoming inclusive, because they are excluding an entire talent pool. She also believes that acknowledging that recruiting diverse talent is not enough, because the talent must be retained. Antoinette works to make I&D a priority by leveraging data, treating DEI as a strategic pillar, and setting achievable goals.
