David Jones Embeds Key DEI Best Practices for Organizational Success



Dr. David E. Jones, Chief Diversity Officer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, embeds best practices for creating organizational change as a DEI executive, consultant, coach, teacher, and leader. He developed metrics and outcomes analysis to assess DEI effectiveness, strengthened diverse hiring practices, developed diverse organizational talent, led DEI training and curriculum design, improved equity and inclusion practices, advanced strategic planning for equity and racial justice, and aligned DEI commitments to organizational business strategy. David is strategy-driven, an empathetic leader, and a strong communicator who holds honest conversations about DEI.


David is co-founder of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Ujima Institute, designed for Black and African American higher education professionals who aspire to senior student affairs officer roles and/or faculty positions. While at William Paterson University, he established the Community Dialogue Series for faculty and staff, and since 2018 has been a teaching faculty member for the Equity Institute at the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center, where is also serves as a coach for the Racial Equity Coaching Academy. David was selected as a Chief Diversity Fellow for the National Association for Diversity Officers in Higher Education for 2023-2024.
