Denise Shepherd Advances a Culture of Inclusion and Allyship at Deloitte US



As the National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Leader at Deloitte US, Denise Shepherd spearheads the organization’s strategy to integrate DEI into its culture and operations. She leads a diverse team dedicated to equipping personnel with the tools to become an ally. Their efforts have resulted in Deloitte professionals participating in external DEI-related conferences at historic rates and engaging in 11 National DEI Communities and 70 local Inclusion Councils to foster connections based on shared identity and allyship.


Denise’s team focuses on incorporating equity into the organization-wide strategy and operations, including supporting equitable recruitment, advancement, retention, and engagement. Believing that transparency is essential for accountability and trust, Denise is committed to tracking and sharing the organization’s DEI data publicly as noted in Deloitte’s DEI Transparency Report


Denise is also dedicated to serving the community and sits on the Board of Directors of the Deloitte Foundation and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Sacramento Chapter.
