Glenn Jackson Builds Diverse Talent Pipeline at M&T Bank Corp.
Glenn Jackson, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer of Diversity & Inclusion for Human Resources at M&T Bank Corporation, credits his colleagues’ willingness to step into the DEI space for accelerated progress towards goals. They have led not only the organization, but also each of the communities served in building inclusive ecosystems, where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Almost half of the 17,000 colleagues participate directly in the 13 ERGs Charters, with over 70 chapters and DEI advisory groups embedded throughout the organization.
Under Glenn’s leadership, key best practices are accelerating DEI goals. The Rising Leaders Development Program is diversifying the leadership pipeline, by providing leadership training and development for high potential women and people of color. Using journey mapping, Glenn is directing the discovery of where inequities in employee experiences may occur based on gender, race, ethnicity, disabilities, sexual orientation, veteran status, etc. and developing interventions and initiatives that provide for more equitable experiences. An initiative stemming from this discovery phase is the EquityOne sponsorship program, which provides formal sponsorship to high potential underrepresented colleagues.
