Under the leadership of Gloria Goins, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Cisco, the company’s current DEI strategy was created to align with Cisco’s business goals and was built in collaboration with key stakeholders. Gloria developed a global DEI strategy that leverages the 30,000 employees within the company’s Inclusive Communities and empowers leaders to create an organizational culture that powers an inclusive future for all. Her leadership strengths include a superior understanding of the DEI practice, strong business acumen, and a deep understanding of Cisco’s purpose and of the technology industry.
Before joining Cisco, Gloria was the first Chief Diversity Officer at The Home Depot. There she designed and implemented an unprecedented hiring partnership with four of the country's most influential Hispanic nonprofit organizations. The shared goals were to increase employment within the Hispanic community, improve customer service, enhance brand equity, and create new sales channels while advancing the nonprofits' missions. Her 2005 strategy was so successful that its impacts are still seen and felt 20 years later.
