Focused on cultivating a growth mindset culture, Jenn Vasquez, as the first Vice President, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Golden State Warriors brought over 15 years of experience as a practitioner to her current position during which she launched learning and development focused on foundational inclusion concepts and competency-based training. Jenn launched a series of learnings and professional development opportunities collaborating with corporate partners that include Inclusion and Ethics in AI, gender equity, and an inaugural ERG summit that is being leveraged as a framework.
Jenn is optimizing ERGs, notably exemplified by the launch of the Pride Alliance ERG in a sports environment, launching a nonprofit board development program to increase representation for Bay Area community organizations, and strengthening relationships with fellow DEI leaders at all Bay Area sports teams with cross-ERG networking. She is bringing mental health and wellbeing to the forefront by adopting a holistic approach that included the launch of wellness ambassadors. Jenn is positioning ERGs for broader business impact and representation including the team’s heritage nights. She is creating a robust DEI maturity model for the sports and entertainment industry with the goal for other teams to expand on and leverage. She leads with cultural competence and remains strategic and forward thinking.
