Matilde Roman Strengthens NYC Health + Hospitals D&I Through Collaboration
Matilde Roman, Esq. serves in the inaugural role of Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer for NYC Health + Hospitals where she directs and influences diversity and inclusion activities for the largest public healthcare system in the country.
Matilde, a graduate of New York Law School, spent most of her career in the public sector advancing equity and access initiatives to support the well-being of individuals and families. In her current role, and in previous roles as General Counsel, Deputy Commissioner and Senior Policy Advisor, Matilde’s contributions led to the development and implementation of innovated solutions and programs that created social and economic value to affect positive change and empower communities.
Matilde was recognized as the 2022 Top 100 Healthcare Diversity Officers and Top Diversity Officers in the U.S. in 2021 by the National Diversity Council and Diversity FIRST. Under Matilde’s leadership, NYC Health + Hospitals was a finalist for the Best Workplace Culture award, sponsored by the International Coaching Federation.
