Meeta Huggins Champions D&I at Ford Motor Company

As the HR Business Operations Director at Ford Motor Company, Meeta Huggins has always been a true champion for diversity and inclusion (D&I). She continually coaches the organizations she supports, facilitates discussions on unconscious bias and other D&I topics in senior leadership meetings, and develops and mentors various employee resource groups, like the Women of Ford: Finance. She takes her passion for inclusion to communities, such as proudly serving as a board member for Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex.

Meeta developed and oversees a number of initiatives. They include Ford’s Re-Entry Program which focuses on helping individuals re-enter the workforce. This strengthens the talent pipeline and helps people, like women who take a career break, return to the workforce. Meeta also developed and launched FordWorks, an umbrella hiring program for individuals with autism. Through her efforts, Ford Motor Company was named in 2018 as the Best Places to Work in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, which relates to LGBTQ rights in the workplace. Meeta believes organizations drive a successful D&I strategy through strong leadership commitment, a collaborative environment, and leader and employee accountability.
