Michelle Taylor-Jones Drives D, E&I as Business Differentiator at Manulife and John Hancock
Michelle is the Vice President of Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Manulife, a leading international financial services group. It operates primarily as John Hancock in the United States and Manulife elsewhere.
She is responsible for the end-to-end vision and strategy to curate, implement, and execute the global DEI agenda. She leads a number of initiatives within the company, striving to increase representation of marginalized groups across the organization to promote diversity in the workforce. Michelle believes diversity is not just a key enabler, but when done right, is a differentiator for business. It drives innovation, collaboration and high-performance. And, she notes a valuable part of organizations are Employee Resource Groups who can be ambassadors that assist with achieving goals.
With over 21 years of experience as an executive leader at various Fortune 100 and 500 companies, Michelle is expert at developing and leading a strategic agenda, developing relationships with key internal and external partners. Her scope of work covers the Manulife/John Hancock workforce, workplaces, local communities, and their wider marketplace efforts. Michelle is the co-founder of Black Women of Influence (BWOI), a New York Based organization for Mid-Executive Level Multicultural Women. She works tirelessly to advocate against violence of women and children globally.
