Nicole Hughey, SVP, Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Social Impact at SiriusXM, is driving real change at the company and within its larger community by holistically weaving DE&I and social impact through every part of the organization. This includes tentpole events like the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, where she and her team hosted community-focused events at Boys and Girls Clubs including a marquee celebration at the Knockdown Center in Queens. Local community members and businesses were invited to join the celebration, with SiriusXM making a donation in support of the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens and other clubs around the country. This is just one example that highlights the importance of DE&I and social impact in supporting the needs of diverse communities inside and outside the company.
By making DE&I core to SiriusXM’s DNA, Hughey’s work has also impacted the company’s culture, leading to programs that increase representation of underrepresented talent in the hiring process, engaged ERGs and external employee development programs to build communities across SiriusXM, and ongoing series and workshops to host open conversations around cultural awareness and DE&I topics that support maintaining an inclusive environment.
