Regina Curry Advances D&I Initiatives Across Global Firm Legg Mason

Regina Curry is the Chief Diversity Officer for Legg Mason, and her proudest moments are when leaders speak about D&I initiatives when she is not in the room. Two of the unique initiatives she has collaborated with are Legg Mason’s D&I Community and her previous employer McCormick’s Ignite Women in Leadership Program. The D&I Community seeks to bring both Legg Mason’s clients and other investment firms together to share best practices and resources to accelerate industry change. The second initiative, which she helped launch at McCormick, is an internal program that led to initial outcomes of nearly 40 percent of graduates being promoted.

Taking a global approach for the firm’s overarching strategies, Regina also follows a strategy of regionalization and customization to make initiatives culturally relevant. She believes the success of D&I in the firm is due to the visible and unwavering leadership of the CEO and having a global D&I framework that is aligned to the business with strategies and measures supporting both diversity and inclusion initiatives. Regina works closely with the 10 Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that are empowered to ignite change and help foster an inclusive culture.
