Stephanie Browne Develops 4Cs D&I Strategy at BCBS Massachusetts
As the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA), Stephanie Browne strives to embed diversity and inclusion (D&I) in everything the company does. To ensure no area is left untouched, she developed a D&I strategy focused on 4Cs – career, culture, community and commerce. With the leadership support of the CEO and the D&I Council, a cross-functional group of executives, the D&I strategy was embedded in enterprise strategy. Leaders now create, track, monitor, and report on goals, increasing accountability and D&I maturity.
Stephanie created and launched a talent brand that embraces the belief that all associates can bring their authentic selves to work. Under her leadership, the talent strategy was revamped. Hires at the director level and above go through a rigorous review that includes an end-to-end look at the hiring process. The Talent Ambassador Program (TAP) was created to engage associates in the talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion strategy with employee resource groups playing a key role in engaging associates at all levels. Stephanie’s success is founded on her relationship–building skills.
