Timitra Hildebrand-Jones Develops Global DE&I Efforts at Albemarle Corporation
Now the Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Albemarle, Timitra Hildebrand-Jones paved the way for increased organizational inclusion and stronger trust between diverse employees and executive leadership. While an ERG co-leader at her prior employer, she designed the Executive Leader Roundtable, so the Black Employee Resource Group had more visibility to the executive team. This session gave diverse employees a voice and paved the way for increasing management awareness of their innovative ideas and vulnerabilities. The success of the initiative led to her career transition from HR business partner to D&I leader.
Now at the beginning phase of the DE&I journey at Albemarle, Timitra’s leadership has already led to signs of success. She is developing a global strategy to build a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace and found direction through culture surveys and focus groups. Timitra developed a global DE&I steering Committee, and members serve as strategy champions and thought partners. Timitra’s leadership strengths are maintained through regular assessment of personal unconscious biases, intentional focus on collaboration, and openness to learn from people with different backgrounds and perspectives.
