Marcia Dukes Brings Best-in-Class DEI Practices to Prudential
Marcia Dukes is the Director, Diversity & Inclusion for Prudential, and under her leadership has created a strategic business imperative for Inclusion & Diversity (I&D) recruitment and business development. She has two initiatives she is most proud of in the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) space. The first involved strategically designing and implementing a multiplier model to help advance equity/racial equity across all U.S. businesses, supporting 20,000 employees. This included providing consultative services for more than 10 DEI Councils, by helping them identify ways to build out capabilities to embed DEI into their business models.
The second initiative is a pilot program Marcia is leading that provides 21st Century DEI learning. The tool provides employees with DEI content in bite size information that includes 10-minute lessons and discussion guides, to address current issues like systemic racism. This is in response to research demonstrating people can absorb only one hour of learning per week. Marcia is implementing the DEI Community of Practice with strong senior level commitment to breaking down the operating model, to eliminate siloed approaches to work.
