Erie Insurance (ERIE) has announced that Christy Blashock has been appointed to the role of Chief Diversity & Community Development Officer.
Blashock was named Community Outreach Manager last year and has worked closely with ERIE employees, the Charitable Giving Committee of ERIE’s Board of Directors, and many local community groups to advance and support ERIE’s philanthropic initiatives, in addition to supporting various community and economic development projects.

“Christy’s unique mix of talent and experience has prepared her to build upon Chris’s work and lead ERIE’s important work of investing our time, talent and resources in sustainable ways both here in Erie and across the communities we serve,” said Tim NeCastro, president and chief executive officer of Erie Insurance. “Under her leadership, I’m confident that our teams engaged in DEI, community and economic development will increase the impact of our collective efforts for the benefit of ERIE and the diverse communities in which we do business.”
Blashock joined Erie Insurance in 2018 as an attorney in the Corporate Legal Department. In that role, she worked closely with different areas of the company, including those related to venture capital, Qualified Opportunity Zones, community and economic development initiatives, corporate governance and agent relations. She participated in the first cohort of the Thomas B. Hagen Fellowship Program in 2020.
Prior to her work at ERIE, she specialized in securities arbitration and was responsible for business development, case management and leading the work of others at Faruqi & Faruqi, LLP and Eccleston Law, LLC, both in New York City.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Case Western Reserve University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Elizabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and her Master of Business Administration from Pace University.
Blashock is an Erie native and has been active in the local community since returning. She currently serves on the Executive Council for Women United, the Grants Committee of the Erie Women’s Fund, the Erie Art Museum board of directors, the Erie County Law Foundation Board of Trustees and the ATHENA PowerLink Advisory Panel.
