PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Angelica Perez-Johnston as the college’s new Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer. Currently, Dr. Perez-Johnston serves as the director for the IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access & Social Justice) Center at Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She will begin her position at CCAC on July 6.
Prior to her tenure with the center, she served as an academic advisor and later as the director of First Year Experience and Transition Programs for Thiel College, and she held the positions of counselor and student success coach at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, she taught as an adjunct professor at Clarion University, and has co-taught courses and facilitated training and workshops on a range of subjects, including racism, racial healing, cultural competency, student leadership and development, and student success.
Dr. Perez-Johnston holds an Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies, Business Administration, from the Bradford School of Business, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and a Doctor of Public Administration from West Chester University.
