Beatriz Rodriguez is the Chief Talent and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at Bayer. She strives to break down systemic barriers by incorporating DE&I into all aspects of the talent experience. Technology tools are utilized to identify unconscious barriers, and enable everyone to make better-informed decisions and build skills to become a DE&I frontrunner. Beatriz embraces the principle that operationalizing DE&I is not a tick-box exercise. It is an ongoing journey that requires transforming processes and culture. To embed DE&I in everything the company does, Beatriz identified all the points where DE&I could make a difference in creating a more inclusive working environment. These included blinded recruitment slates, technology and data insights to ensure practices are pulled through, flexible and smarter requirements for job postings (removing the traditional years of service or Full-time/Part-time requirements), reducing “mini-me” tendencies in succession planning, and many more.
