Birgit Boykin, the Managing Director and Global Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for Talent and Culture at BlackRock, helps our team drive a multi-year DEI strategy consisting of three pillars; talent, clients and communities.
Birgit’s work centers on the firms talent and culture. She utilizes tools and events to drive dialogue and engagement with BlackRock’s employees, and to help everyone at the firm experience opportunities to advance, succeed and be their best, authentic selves.
Birgit leads this work through efforts including leadership development programs that create opportunities for growth; by introducing a global “Learning Out Loud” series of curated conversations with industry thought leaders; and by launching the “Count Me In” campaign, a firmwide initiative to raise awareness about self-identification and encourage employees to voluntarily share their demographic information with the firm. Birgit also strives to maintain a continuous focus on transparency and accountability to drive collective ownership of BlackRock’s DEI efforts, and she supports the development of DEI-fluent leaders, through engagement with employee network members and business leaders.
