Nashunda Williams, Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) at JLL, works with leaders globally to strategize and implement DEI initiatives across the firm. With an appreciation that all DEI journeys rely on good listening and leadership accountability, Nashunda led a diverse global team to conduct extensive listening sessions to shape JLL’s DEI path forward. The success of the listening sessions led to the creation of a listening toolkit, which is a set of documents that empower leaders to foster timely conversations and gather more authentic, transparent feedback from their teams. Her team is part of several external DEI organizations where the impact of the listening sessions and methodology are shared with the broader community.
Additionally, Nashunda believes cultural intelligence is an essential quality of inclusive leadership. Her team fosters DEI through education, which includes providing employees with an educational resource center and developing cultural experience manager guides. These resources set the foundation for JLL’s continued growth by creating an environment of endless learning, self-reflection and awareness.
