Cheryl Monroe is the Vice-President of Supplier Diversity and Vendor Development for Macy's. Before her currently held position, Monroe was Vice-President Store Manager for Macy's Wheaton.

"Macy's has a great supplier diversity program that is headed up by an executive that has excellent qualifications and retail background," said Senior Vice-President, Government and Consumer Affairs, Ed Goldberg.

In her newly appointed position, Monroe will focus on supplier diversity and vendor development, making multicultural spending a priority in retail and non-retail. This will enable Macy's to connect with the needs of customers in all communities.

Monroe joined Macy's in 1987 as sales manager for Better Sportswear for White Marsh. She was later appointed Assistant Buyer of cold weather and ladies accessories in 1989. One year later, in 1990, Monroe was appointed Cosmetics Manager for the Hunt Valley Maryland store and in 1992 for Owings Mills. In 1993, she joined Hecht's as a Divisional Sales Manager for Wheaton and later rejoined Macy's as Regional Merchandise Manager for the Baltimore and Washington area in 2001.

In 2002, Monroe was appointed Assistant Store Manager for Macy's East Tyson Corner in Virginia and later that same year she was promoted to Vice-President Store Manager of Macy's East in Springfield, Virginia. In 2004, she was appointed Vice-President Store Manager to open the only new store for Macy's East in the year 2005, Macy's Wheaton.

Monroe is a member of Macy's Diversity Council and is involved with Macy's Partners in Time program, a community outreach effort. She attended Towson University in Maryland. She and her husband, Gary, have two children.
