Marcia Dukes to Lead Innovative Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategies at Mass Mutual

Marcia Dukes, MBA, has joined MassMutual to lead innovative diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) strategies for internal and external business partners. In her role, she will embed DEI best-in-class practices in collaboration with HR business partners, talent leads, talent acquisition, business leaders and workforce analytics. Additionally, she will support one or more affinity groups to help with talent and community service initiatives to create local impact.

Reporting into MassMutual’s head of DEI, which is currently an open role, Marcia brings 25+ years of experience with the last 8 years focused on DEI as a diversity practitioner at Prudential, where she managed DEI for U.S. businesses with oversight for eight businesses with over 12,000 employees.

Marcia’s journey into this work started as a community leader advocating for children with learning disabilities. She has created programs to support the American College (the Conference of African American Financial Professionals), which helps to support the sustainability of Black Advisors within the financial service industry. Additionally, she managed multiple talent development programs, such qs CALIBR and Odyssey, focused on developing Black leaders. She has also been instrumental in establishing partnerships with organizations such as McKinsey to enable leaders to understand the data to help develop the right DEI strategies.

Marcia has a MBA in Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College and BA in Communication Arts from Caldwell University. She sits on the Caldwell University President Advisory Board and Finseca Diversity & Inclusion Committee and is an Executive Leadership Council Fellow.
