The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, a national nonprofit organization focused on diversity, equity and inclusion in graduate business education and American business, is proud to announce the addition of the 24th university to its membership ranks: The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. The Consortium’s Board of Trustees approved the school’s membership on April 4, 2024, which will be effective beginning July 1, 2024.
The Consortium works with top-ranked MBA programs around the country to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in business education and corporate leadership, and the organization welcomes the opportunity to build upon Fuqua’s commitment to diversity and inclusion to further advance this mission.

Executive Director & CEO, Peter Aranda stated, “For many years, Fuqua and The Consortium have shared a deep commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Today, we are thrilled to announce that our two institutions will partner to enhance our collective efforts and results on this front. Our consortium of outstanding business schools is delighted to welcome The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University as our 24th member. We look forward to working in collaboration with Dean Bill Boulding and his team as we continue to advance and accelerate the critical missions of Fuqua and The Consortium.”
Founded in 1969, Fuqua is committed to not just teaching sound business practices, but to using its platform as a force multiplier to better the world. Fuqua has a long history of working to make business education accessible—including more than 40 years of conducting The Duke MBA Workshop in which 65 alumni per year come back to campus to share their experience and mentor potential MBA candidates, many from traditionally underrepresented groups in business. Through its membership in The Consortium, Fuqua is continuing to demonstrate its commitment to ensuring both an equitable business landscape and a better world. The school will begin recruiting its first Consortium class in August of 2024.
“A commitment to all forms of diversity is in our DNA at Fuqua, so a partnership with The Consortium aligns with our values,” said Bill Boulding, dean of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. “Fuqua’s curriculum is built to develop leaders who can harness the strengths of diverse perspectives to truly innovate in working toward a common goal—and the diversity of our students’ backgrounds is key to making sure they learn from each other, in addition to our world-class faculty.”
