Comcast Spectacor Names Andrea Agnew Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

PHILADELPHIA – Comcast Spectacor, a leader in live sports, entertainment, and gaming, today announced the appointment of Andrea Agnew as Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Agnew, a 14-year human resources leader at Comcast, will be the first person to hold this position with Comcast Spectacor.

In this newly created role, Agnew will join the company’s senior leadership team to guide and implement Comcast Spectacor’s strategy and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across the organization’s portfolio. This includes the Philadelphia Flyers Business and Hockey Operations teams, Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia Wings, Maine Mariners and the organization’s Gaming division that includes the Philadelphia Fusion.

“I am delighted to have Andrea join our leadership team and bring her deep expertise and strategic vision to this new role,” said Comcast Spectacor Chairman and CEO, Dave Scott. “She’s a proven leader and has great experience heading impactful diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. She will bring tremendous energy to our team, and I’m excited to work alongside her.”

Agnew will build on Comcast Spectacor’s current commitments and activities in the areas of training, recruiting, career development, community engagement, procurement, corporate culture and mentorship. Comcast Spectacor also recently renewed its commitment to seeking diverse partnerships and vendors. DE&I are central to Comcast Spectacor’s core values, and Agnew will help to further advance and measure the organization’s progress to its goals.

“I am thrilled to join one of the premier sports and entertainment companies in the world and to work hand in hand with their teams to create sustainable and impactful change,” said Andrea Agnew, Vice President of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. “I’m inspired by Comcast Spectacor’s commitment to making its workplace and communities more dynamic and inclusive, and am committed to activating this purposeful vision. I look forward to building upon their DE&I strategy and programs to build a better future.”

Agnew will also liaise with Comcast to align with the company’s overall commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. In June, Comcast announced a comprehensive, multiyear plan to allocate $100 million to fight injustice and inequality against any race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation or ability. Agnew will work closely with Comcast to actualize a portion of this plan for Comcast Spectacor.

Agnew comes to Comcast Spectacor with over 23 years of experience in human resources management including workforce diversity and inclusion, talent management and recruiting. She joined Comcast in 2006 and continues to serve as the Executive Director of Change Management for the Comcast Total Rewards Innovation and Products Team. In previous roles with Comcast, Agnew led the company-wide workforce DE&I strategy during the acquisition of NBCUniversal, as well as the national alignment and restructure of EffecTV, formerly Comcast Spotlight. She also spearheaded the introduction of Employee Resource Groups at Comcast. Prior to joining Comcast, Andrea was employed by Booz Allen Hamilton, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte & Touche.

Agnew’s executive leadership education includes Authentic Leadership Development at the Harvard School of Business, the NAMIC Executive Leadership Development Program at UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management, and the Urban League’s Urban Leaders Forum. Agnew also currently serves as an Executive Board Member for The Urban League of Philadelphia, a Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence, and an Advisory Board Member for the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications in Philadelphia.
