DIVERSITYGLOBAL MAGAZINE HONORS GLOBAL DIVERSITY LEADERS
SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY – DiversityGlobal Magazine is honored to introduce the
2021 Top 15 Champions of Diversity. The men and women selected this year are recognized for their work and influence in defining and embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Human Resources, and Sustainability both in the U.S. and globally. Their challenging work across countries and cultures, and their nomination by peers and organizational leaders is a testament to their success.
DiversityGlobal Magazine sent surveys to more than 33,000 diversity executives and organization leaders, and 171 nominations were returned. Each person they nominated is deserving of recognition for their efforts and success in the diversity space, but the final selection was limited to 15. The criteria for nomination set the standard high, and included requirements like encouraging diversity of thought, driving best practices, demonstrating leadership qualities, and maintaining a global perspective on diversity. Once nominated, each person answered three key questions about their achievements, best practices utilized to drive success, and their leadership strengths. In this way, they gave critical insights into their philosophies and strategies for achieving the success they have accomplished.
All surveys were reviewed by an independent editorial board. The final list of women and men are those who demonstrated excellence in building a top-quality diversity program or expanding existing programs into new locations and across the organization.
The 2021 Top 15 Champions of Diversity will be highlighted in a special magazine issue that will be shared with C-Suite executives and corporate professionals across the USA, European Union, Canada, UK, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, and Australia. In addition, the bios will sit on the DiversityGlobal Magazine site at www.diversityglobal.com for one year and will be shared across social media.
The Champions of Diversity work in many different industries including health insurance, biopharmaceuticals, banking, business investments and project development, manufacturing, legal, marketing research, chemical manufacturing, and mortgage and loan lending. It is exciting to see new industries represented in the ongoing effort to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) of underrepresented populations and diverse-owned businesses. Many of the industries are ones that have experienced a significant lack of diversity in the past, making the work of the Champions of Diversity critical to an inclusive future.
The
Top 15 Champions of Diversity represent some of the largest and most successful organizations in the world so their efforts have what one Champion called a “multiplier effect.” They include Amgen, Genentech, M&T Bank, Mizuho Americas, Google, Stinson, Ford Motor Co., Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN, Manulife, NielsenIQ, Prudential, Albemarle, Rocket Companies, Sandoz, and the U.S. Coast Guard. Working in such influential and recognizable organizations gives the Champions of Diversity exceptional opportunities to take the core values of DEI across geographies and cultures.
Each of the honorees champions Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in creative ways, disrupting the status quo within their respective organizations. Their vision for an equitable and just world often extends externally, where they give of their time, knowledge, and expertise. As Champions, they want to bring equity to global corporations and political structures, create lasting cultural and systemic change, gain meaningful seats at the table, and pursue a higher purpose in which Diversity and Inclusion, HR, and Sustainability are core values driving all business decisions, from who the company does business with to supporting local and regional communities, to building diverse supply chains.
Please join the staff of DiversityGlobal Magazine in congratulating the
2021 Top 15 Champions of Diversity, those people of distinction who make an exceptional effort each day.
